Originality.

What does it mean to you? Making something new, never thought of or seen before? Something proggressive and ahead of our time? Anything that strikes out to the viewer as some sort of message?

It all depends on how one may read the word, absorb it, analyze it, and live on it. Those who show originality are the ones the greatest technical artists on Deviant Art duplicate, and say their art is pure and their own.

I see this as a false statement. Anyone who makes something similar to Jens Karlsson, Young, or any of the other renowned designers of our time is following a trend. It's similar to business... A cell phone company makes a plan to charge one set amount a month for infinite minutes, so every other company makes a plan of their own that does this exact same thing, but they put their name it.

This is too similar to the world of graphic design. As an aspiring creator, we must all think for ourselves, create our own style and flare, not Karlsson's present style or cool lineart..
